Edward A. and Helen Glockner

With the separation of the hardware and the automobile businesses in 1919, Edward A. and sister Helen had an expansion to oversee and a legacy to continue.  Edward worked with his father, Alex, in the automobile end while Helen already served as the bookkeeper for the hardware store.  She joined her brother in the operation of the Chevrolet dealership after the death of their father in 1926. The Great Depression in the 30’s and World War II in the 40’s brought unprecedented challenges to the brother and sister team.  But like their forefathers they survived and eventually thrived.
