Work Hard, Play Hard.
Work hard, play hard. Surviving prohibition, multiple wars, The Great Depression, and other hardships required more playful endeavours to lift everyone’s spirits. Whether a poker game in the basement of the hardware store, a motorcycle race on the country roads, or a good song set on the Kazoo–the Glockner Patriarchs always enjoyed a good laugh (link to Ebby’s laughing song video).
Portsmouth Motorcycle Club
The Portsmouth Motorcycle Club was founded in 1893 by Alex Glockner. It began with 15 bicycle enthusiasts and was originally called the Portsmouth Cycling Club. The American Motorcycle Association recognizes the Portsmouth Motorcycle Club as the oldest motorcycle club in the country.
